It’s no doubt that Joshua Tree is one of the best spots California has to offer. That’s why I wanted to put together a list of the best Joshua Tree photo shoot locations, so that you know what your options are if you want to shoot here.
Cap Rock is a pretty large area, so we’ll have plenty of room to shoot. The trails are super easy (which isn’t the case for all locations in Joshua Tree!), so if you’re trying not to break a sweat, this is a great option. It’s a 20 minute drive from the park entrance, and is personally my favorite place to shoot in JT. Overall, highly recommend!
Hemingway is a lot more intimate than Cap Rock, so if that’s more your vibe, this is perfect. There’s so many beautiful rock formations that make for pretty amazing backdrops for photos. Which is exactly why it’s one of the best Joshua Tree photo shoot locations! The parking lot is pretty small, and it’s one of the more unique spots in JT. Plus, it’s only a 15 minute drive from the entrance of the park.
Quail Springs is the closest to the entrance of JT (only 10 minutes away), so it’s perfect if you’re on a time crunch. Even if you’re not, it’s still one of the best Joshua Tree photo shoot locations. The open valley views are to die for, and it’s one of my favorite spots to take my couples.
If you’re the adventurous type, you would love Arch Rock. It does require a bit of a hike, so be prepared for that if you want to visit this location! The only parking available is street parking, so keep that in mind as well. It’s a 30 minute drive from the entrance of the park, which is the longest drive out of all the locations mentioned. In my opinion, it’s 100% worth it though!
