Looking for the best San Diego photo shoot locations? You’re in the right place! I love helping my couples brainstorm different locations for their shoots, depending on what their vision is. If you’re planning a shoot soon and need some ideas, here are a few of my favorites. 

Downtown San Diego 

By far one of my favorite San Diego photo shoot locations, heading downton for a session is almost never a bad idea. Downtown San Diego has so many different options scenery-wise, so you’ll get lots of variety for photos. You’ll get the true SoCal city feel when taking your photos downtown. 

Balboa Park 

Balboa park is by far one of the most beautiful locations you can find in San Diego. Totalling 1200 acres and housing the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park is one of the most iconic urban parks around. It includes 17 (yes, seventeen) museums, luscious gardens, and tons of places to eat, drink, and shop. I could spend hours here with all my different couples, so I would love to chat if you’re interested in shooting here! 

Coronado Beach

Want the classic SoCal beach vibes for your shoot? I’ve got you covered. Coronado Beach is definitely one of my favorite San Diego photo shoot locations because of the fantastic views. The infamous Hotel del Coronado is also right near Coronado Beach and provides a stunning backdrop for photos. 

Sunset Cliffs

The scenery of Sunset Cliffs is truly unmatched. As the name suggests, the rugged cliffs along with the ocean views are to die for! One of my favorite things about this location is that we can truly get a variety of photos. As long as you’re up for a little adventure, we can explore Sunset Cliffs to your heart’s content and get some pretty epic shots. 

Presidio Park 

If you want spectacular views of Old Town San Diego, Presidio Park should definitely be on your list of best San Diego photo shoot locations. There’s 40 acres of green, open space, and you even have the option to explore the nearby attractions. It’s a pretty iconic spot in San Diego and has a ton of history behind it. I always recommend this spot for my couples! 

Mission Trails 

Mission Trails is a super popular spot for hikers, and a perfect spot for my more adventurous couples. There’s countless trails within the park (over 65 miles worth) and it’s situated on over 8,000 acres. Technically, it’s one of the largest urban parks in the country!
