The Santa Monica Pier is the perfect spot for engagement photos. You can play some games at Pacific Park, explore the pier or run around on the beach. You’re almost always guaranteed great weather and a pretty sunset. Here are a few tips when planning your engagement session at the Santa Monica Pier.

1. Arrive Early!
   Parking can take awhile near the pier, even on week days. Give yourself 30 extra minutes to find parking and walk to your destination.
2. Plan to shoot during sunset
   There is nothing quite like a Los Angeles sunset. Plan your shoot to start about 1 hour before sunset to get the best lighting possible.
3. Bring a little cash for a treat.
   It’s really fun to incorporate an ice cream cone or a cotton candy when you’re doing photos on the pier. It brings the classic fair feel to your images.
